The Role

We are seeking an experienced Quality Manager to lead and continuously improve our Quality Management System and ensure full compliance with ISO 13485 and applicable regulatory requirements.

This is a hands-on leadership role, working closely with Operations, Engineering, and Customers to ensure robust processes, effective risk management, and audit readiness at all times.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own, maintain, and develop the ISO 13485 Quality Management System
  • Act as site lead for external audits (customers, notified bodies, regulators) and internal audits
  • Manage CAPA, deviations, non-conformances, and complaints through to effective closure
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory and customer requirements for medical device manufacture
  • Oversee document control, change control, and validation documentation
  • Lead quality input into new product introduction (NPI) and process changes
  • Manage supplier quality, including supplier approval and performance monitoring
  • Drive continuous improvement and quality culture across the business
  • Provide leadership and mentoring to quality team members as their line manager

Skills & Experience Required

  • Proven experience as a Quality Manager (or Senior Quality Engineer) in a manufacturing environment
  • Strong working knowledge of ISO 13485 (medical devices essential)
  • Experience within plastic injection moulding, cleanroom, or medical manufacturing highly desirable
  • Confident leading audits and interfacing with customers and external bodies
  • Practical experience of CAPA, risk management, and validation activities
  • Strong attention to detail with a pragmatic, solutions-focused mindset
  • Excellent communication skills at all levels
  • Strong IT skills for working in a data-driven environment (ERP experience desirable)

Manufacturing Quality Engineer

Job description

We are looking to expand our Quality Assurance team with the addition of Quality Engineers.

As an engineering-focused company, this is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to progress their quality engineering career by working in a close-knit, highly experienced team. The successful applicant will have the opportunity to work closely with customers and all other departments at Sovrin on new projects, from conception, through validation and into production.

Key tasks are likely to include:

  • Customer liaison – as the primary contact for a number of customers for all quality-related correspondence.
  • Validation – an integral part of NPI project teams driving validation through IQ/OQ/PQ.
  • Metrology – utilising modern contact and non-contact CMMs to establish metrology methods that will be used to validate and monitor the quality of precision components.
  • QMS – assisting with the maintenance of the QMS and acting as the quality lead through various aspects of the system including CAPA, RCA, change control, document control, risk assessments and audits (internal, supplier and customer/notified body).
  • Reporting – generating a wide variety of reports from simple spreadsheet-based capability studies to full Validation Summary Reports.
  • Training – writing Work Instructions and SOPs and implementing training to personnel at all levels within Sovrin.
  • GMP – providing guidance and support throughout the company in GMP/GDP/DI.

Ideally, your skills will include:

  • Experience of working in an injection moulding/engineering/medical device manufacturing environment.
  • Comprehensive understanding of ISO13485:2016.
  • The ability to read and interpret complex engineering drawings.
  • The capability to operate and program Mitutoyo contact and non-contact CMMs.
  • The confidence to interact professionally with others at all levels internally and externally.
  • Proficiency in the use of MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).

Training will be given to the successful applicant(s) who demonstrate appropriate core skills and an enthusiasm to learn.

Process Technician (Injection Moulding)

Sovrin Plastics is a world class injection moulding and Contract Manufacturing Organisation (CMO) of medical devices. We have an exciting opportunity for a hands-on Process Technician working in our Injection Moulding Department.

Key responsibilities:

Keeping moulding machines working at their optimum performance.
Installing and changing mould tools in a safe and efficient manner.
Setting Injection Moulding Machine, Robot and ancillary equipment parameters to pre-determined settings.
Submit first off samples to Quality Assurance for approval.
Ensure quality standards are maintained.
To undertake machine safety and maintenance checks.
Updating ERP software with relevant production data.
To make sure that the machines and surrounding work areas are kept clean and tidy.
To act immediately on any reported processing or machine problems.

Qualifications / Experience:

You must have a proven track record working in a hands-on manufacturing role.
You must have hands-on experience of setting industrial machinery.
Previous experience of Injection Moulding machinery and robotics is desirable, but not essential as training can be provided.
You must have good verbal and written communication skills.
A high attention to detail is essential.
You must be a team player and have a strong work ethic.
Experience in using ERP systems is an advantage.
You must live within an easily commutable distance of our location.

Job type:

Site based, full time permanent contract.
Working hours are Monday to Friday 08:00 to 16:30.
Regular evening / weekend overtime (subject to business conditions).

Toolmaker/Mould Tool Service Engineer– Plastics Moulding

Required to join the team of a successful and expanding Plastics Engineering Company manufacturing Precision Injection Mouldings, Assemblies and Medical Devices for the Pharmaceutical, Drug Delivery and Healthcare industries.

The successful applicant should have a track record in Toolmaking and preferably experience of Plastic Injection Mould Tools.

You will work in a modern well equipped toolroom on Plastic Injection mould tools, Jigs and Fixtures. CNC/CAD-CAM and/or EDM experience would be beneficial but not essential.

Training can be given where/if required.

Ideally you will be an experienced Engineering professional with a ‘hands on’ background working in a Plastics manufacturing based environment.

The candidate must have good communication and interpersonal skills, with sound commercial judgement, be self-motivated and determined to meet or exceed targets.

You should live within commuting distance of Slough and hold a valid full current driving license.

Staff Position
